Online JSON editor explained
The online editor uses a two-pane layout: input on the left and formatted output on the right, with validation running as you type. A draft is saved in the browser, so reopening the page lets you continue where you stopped, and you can clear the draft at any time.
You can drop json or txt files into the editor, up to 10MB each, and larger files are rejected with a message. A successful format can be downloaded, copied or written to history for later review.
Shortcuts match the parse page: Shift+Alt+F formats and Shift+Alt+M minifies. For a one-off conversion, the parse or minify page is lighter.
Frequently asked questions
- Where is the draft stored?
- The draft uses browser local storage. It stays on this device and browser, is never uploaded, and does not sync to other devices.
- Will my content be lost after a refresh?
- The editor saves a draft automatically, so a refresh usually restores your content. The parse and minify pages do not keep drafts and are cleared on refresh.
- Why does dropping a file do nothing?
- Only json and txt files up to 10MB are accepted. Other types are rejected with a message.
